Vanuatu Resorts

We have selected the following Vanuatu resorts based on their privacy, ‘no children’ policy, romantic atmosphere, in-resort dining and their own individual ambience. There’s also some excellent value with Mangoes Resort, Sunset Bungalows and Tamanu on the Beach all offering Stay 7 nights Pay 5 nights specials.
Prices start at $497 per person (plus flights) at Mangoes in a Garden Bungalow including light breakfast daily.
Contemporary and very private, Mangoes was one of the first resorts to adopt a ‘no children policy’ when it opened a few years ago and the first to welcome same-sex couples.
Set high on the ridge above Erakor Lagoon there are 20 tasteful appointed, detached bungalows, two swimming pools and a charming restaurant. Couples may also choose to dine in their bungalow or on their balcony and in-house massages can be arranged.
New owner Callum has just finished a stylish refurbish, it is a walk or a short bus ride to Vila town and there’s a tour desk offering tours and activities.
Located in Port Vila Harbour with all the facilities you expect from a quality resort, Iririki has long been a favourite for romantic breaks.
The resort has been recently refurbished and offers relaxed elegance. There are 70 rooms on this private island (three minutes from town on a free 24hr ferry) and facilities include swimming pool, bars, room service, watersports and the signature restaurant, Michener’s.
The manager hosts a guest cocktail party on Monday nights and the Melanesian Feast on Tuesdays is usually a sell-out. The resort also features Spa Frangipani for a range of Day Spa services including facials, massages, waxing and nails.
Sunset Bungalows opened mid 2004 and is a stylish boutique addition to the romance market. Just a few minutes from Port Vila on the lagoon, the ten bungalows are spacious set in tropical gardens right on the water. There’s a swimming pool with cascade and an excellent lagoon terrace French restaurant.
2006 saw the opening of one stunning spa bungalow with King Bed, Plasma screen TV and King Spa looking across the lagoon to the sunset and eight new units open December 2006. There can be no more than 39 people at the resort at any time and the friendly staff will make you feel at home.
This is a little gem for a one or two night romantic interlude. Of course, it may suit some couples for longer and there is a Stay 7 nights Pay 5 nights package.
There is a fantastic little restaurant and the resort is set on a white sand beach in five acres of tropical gardens 15km (25 minutes) from Port Vila. Even if you don’t stay, it’s recommended for a long, leisurely lunch with a driver to drop you off and pick you up (not literally, necessarily).
The five plantation cottages are built in French Colonial style. All have verandahs angled to the sea, large bedrooms, shuttered windows, garden bathrooms and overhead fans.
The atmosphere is relaxed and romantic and the restaurant is renowned for its excellent local seafood, beef and exotic fruits. For the more active, golf, tennis, kayaking and horse riding are nearby.
